Weekly Planning Journal for Neurodiverse Families

Every planner on the shelf is built for one organised adult. You are not one organised adult. You are four people with four different relationships to time, and a week that falls apart at the same three or four points every time. The permission slip that surfaces at 8:40am. The project due tomorrow that was set a fortnight ago. The swimming lesson nobody agreed to drive to. The conversation with school that everyone remembers differently. Same Page is built around those points specifically. Not a system to adopt, not a method to learn — a book shaped like the failure modes. What it is: An undated, seven-week planning journal for a household of four. Everyone gets a full page a day. The two grown-ups face each other across the spread, so a handover is a glance rather than a conversation. The two young people face each other, so one adult can check both at once. Seven weeks is one half-term. Six of these make a school year. What's inside: A page a day, for each of four people Grown-up pages carry a time strip, drop-offs and pick-ups, work, admin, and a handover box for what the other adult needs to know. Young people's pages are set in a larger, rounder typeface, with fewer fields and more room: what's happening today, what's in the bag, homework, one job at home, how the day felt, and a box for something they need help with. Homework with a start date, not just a deadline The homework grid asks when a piece of work is due and when it's going to be started. That gap is where homework disappears. There's also a column for how long it's expected to take and how long it actually took — which builds a sense of time through repetition rather than nagging. A week-ahead spread Every fixed point for all four people on one grid. Then transport, food, and a box for the things that sink a week: non-uniform day, trip money, forms to sign, baking, kit, instruments, subs. A weekly roundup One win each. What went wobbly and what would have helped. Anything unfinished moves forward on an arrow, visibly — because a system that loses things stops being trusted. A survival week Near the back, a stripped-back week: fixed points, food, one job each, and nothing else. For the weeks when the full book is too much. Using it is not a failure; it's what it's for.
