This book describes what went on around Anzac Cove on 25 April,
1915; from before the early morning landings until the close of action
on that first night.
It covers the reason why Australia was involved, how our soldiers
arrived at Anzac Cove, and how they climbed the trails to higher
ground after the landings. It finishes with a summary of what our
Anzacs achieved on the first day.
I have kept it short so that readers can read it from start to finish
in one session. There are no battalion numbers to remember nor
names to note. As you stand in silence waiting for your local Anzac
Day dawn service to begin you will be able to ‘picture’ what our
troops were going through at the same time of the morning on the
same day about 100 years ago.
