Gamebreaker

My world is falling apart all around me, even though it's supposed to be perfect. My best friend is dead and the government won't tell me anything. He went into the Army Academy three years ago, promising to return soon. There has been no contact, until now: a horrid letter announcing his death as if it is an achievement. All I want to know is how he is dead if there isn't any war to die in. But that doesn't seem to have an answer anyone can give. Or wants to give. I think the medicine is messing with my head. They say I'm ill, but I feel fine. Except for the hallucinations. I'm not even sure that's what they are; they seem too real. And he's everywhere I turn. Who to trust has become my largest emotional dispute. Who can you trust if you can't even trust yourself? And if that's not enough, I think my mother is hiding something from me. Then they took her away.
