Marching in Place

Democracy is not a tradition. Equality, freedom, and justice are not traditions. They are all equal and constant practices that must be constantly edified for their own purification. A civil society is not one that soothes itself with material consumption looking the other way at injustice and inequality. Civil is not a collective sense of apathy toward the less fortunate. Civil is attacking these issues and solving such problems with non violent discourse and impassioned example. A democracy is not the latent preservation of racist nor sexist ideologies that have been long discarded, dismissed, or dismantled by a formerly much more racist and sexist democratic populous. America’s most racist, sexist, and openly bias tendencies were ultimately upended by America’s historically most racist, sexist, and bias group.
