BLACK SWAN COMICS #1 IS AN ODD DUCK. THE PIRATE COVER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL BOOK’S CONTENTS. THERE IS A BLACK HOOD STORY FROM TOP NOTCH LAUGH COMICS #42 AND THEN THERE ARE FIVE HUMOR STORIES FROM LAUGH COMICS #46 PUBLISHED IN 1944. THOSE STORIES FEATURE THE TWIDDLES, DOTTY AND DITTO, POKEY OAKEY, GLOOMY GUS AND SUZIE. THERE IS ALSO A STUPIDMAN STORY BY ED GOGGIN. THIS COMIC IS TRULY A BURIED TREASURE. Have you ever seen or heard about a particular comic, but were disappointed knowing that, since there was only one issue of the title, it would never be reprinted? Well, Retro Comic Reprints One Shot Wonders are here to help! The mission of RCR One Shot Wonders is to make individual public domain comic books, whose titles didn’t last long enough to be collected as series, accessible in print again. You are welcome to send me suggestions for public domain comics that only lasted a single issue. The best way to have your title added to the list is to email me at [email protected]
