The GUNMASTER, a man who's real identity is known by very few, was born in the Old West to strife and necessity. He appeared suddenly on the raw western frontier from nowhere and would return seemingly to nowhere when his mission was complete. The GUNMASTER added a new chapter of courage and justice to the rugged pages of history. GUNMASTER was not immune to Charlton”s occationsal numbering vaguries. After he graduated from SIX-GUN HEROES, GUNMASTER was given his own series in 1964. This first series lasted for four issues. In 1965 Charlton tried again, this time taking over the numbering sequence fro SIXGUN HEROES with #84. This run lasted six issues. GUNMASTER's sagas were illustrated by some of Charlton Comics' best artists including Dick Giordano, Charles Nicholas, Vince Alascia, Sal Trapani and Pete Morisi. This book was compiled with the best images currently available. That stated, these comics are over sixty years old. The best efforts have been made to make the pages as enjoyable as possible but not every panel is perfect and some allowances for the age of the books need to be considered when judging the overall contents.
