Inherit the Land

This book is a work of fiction. As a novelist, I have used real characters and legends to add credence to the time and place of real historical events. The main characters are fictional but they are copied from real people or a combination of people. The real star is the City of San Antonio and I hope I have done all the citizens justice. Any error of fact is my responsibility, and I am grateful to all those people who talked to me during my research. San Antonio is a great city that was built by a mixture of great people. From historical beginnings, a myriad of immigrants, and indigenous natives already here, looked forward to hard work, hardship, and sacrifice, to face the future alone, and with family, who lived life bold to create a great life and a great city. The city is the star of the story. These characters show us strength, weakness, greed, evil, love, and the will of the human spirit to survive and build a great city.
