THE UGLY DUCKLINGS

Things may not be quite how they seem when southern boy Alfie meets New York broad, Miranda at university. She has the brains to compensate for his inadequacies but he has a name that she wants more than anything else. She also has a very short fuse, a kick like a mule and a distinguished name of her own that she wants rid of. When Alfie emerges as the year's top student, and his dissertation on the one hot topic of the day ends up as a best selling book, things begin to change. Involved are some big and nasty names from Washington as things turn out to be somewhat complicated. All is further clouded as they unravel his true parentage from the many possibles who shared a haystack with 'mummy' and his extended family emerges. Who did what, who is actually who and who is on their side? All great fun as we hear the story from both sides of this romp through the Deep South.
