Grammy Award-winning producer Ron "Amen-Ra" Lawrence tells his story from Dominica to the Black Gold Coast of East Elmhurst, Queens, where Louis Armstrong, Malcolm X and hip hop's early pioneers lived around the way. He takes readers from park jams and basement rhyme sessions to Howard University, Two Kings in A Cipher, and the Bad Boy Hitmen era, producing records for The Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, Mase, The Lox and Puff Daddy. Structured like a double album, this memoir is also the story of his toughest battle: beating cancer and learning, as always, to stay afloat.
