The Acme Quarry Cave Survey Project

ByRonald Fulcher

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The Acme Quarry Cave Survey Project began in 1959 when the management contacted the President of the National Speleological Society, Bill Stephenson, about caves inside their fifth underground limestone quarry mine. They had found an unknown cave system that reaches the Greenbrier River after traversing ten miles of cave passages and where Scott Hollow Cave passes beneath it all! Unique stories and resources help tell the history of the caves and the quarries where they were all found. Frazier and Snowflake, West Virginia are where my Grandmother and then my father were born and they helped greatly in this effort. Lots of historical photographs and maps will keep the reader busy for hours learning about the Mount Vernon Compression Fault.
