Dearest...

‘Dearest' transforms email scams about money into poetry about human desire by way of erasure. Both the original and the transformation are presented on facing pages. These emails were accumulating in my junk mail box but I didn’t want to trash them. The language in them was ‘off’ / out of tune - which fascinated me. Are people actually hooked by these? Erasure brings forth an alternative, no less desperate, in the endless cycle of humans trying to connect with humans, for better or worse.
