About
Rosaire Appel
by Rosaire Appel. These books are records of some of my explorations of language, both visual and verbal. In some books (Morpheme Pages, As It Were) I use asemic writing to indicate verbal language. Asemic writing has no semantic reliability. In other books I substitute form for language (Shadow Poems, A Selection of Wordless Poems). Stories for Dr Eidelberg uses the absence of language as its language. Episode X and And Yet are graphic novellas/ abstract comics, that use suggestive forms rather than identifiable symbols. Of the two catalogues listed here, one is fictitious (Pages From Books That Don’t Exist), the other is a selection of limited edition digital drawings. Some books are available in both soft and hardcover. Lots more to come, so check back once in a while.
