Spatially Aware User Interfaces for Spontaneous Interaction

In this thesis we investigate the idea of incorporating spatial relationships between physical devices into the graphical user interface. We think such an approach could support spontaneous interaction between personal mobile devices and co-located resources. These so called spatially aware user interfaces would enable users to select services by matching the spatial relationships of devices in the environment with the spatial cues presented in the user interface rather than having to explicitly identify a network address.
