It is through research that lives have been improved and better ways to deal with diseases have been discovered. Everyday we learn or discover something new confirming the phrase “Life is a learning process” and thus research should be part of our daily if not hourly lives. Methods in Research is a clarifying book for any reader with an interest in research. The book is comprehensive on both quantitative and qualitative research approaches. Infact, nowadays a mixed method of the two is common practice despite some obstinate quantitative scientists proselytizing quantitative heretics. An in-depth understanding of both approaches is important and is well discussed.Enormous resources are presently being directed to researches related to Covid-19 despite the numerous contradicting conspiracy theories. It’s only through a thorough research that will involve effical therapeutic processes and rigorous vaccines trials that interventions and management of this pandemic and such alike might be halted. The book describes the history of research and mentions some of the renown scholars, most notably Hippocrates,James Lind among others. Uses of research, qualities of a good research, gap analysis are the subject introduction concomitant with the study mooted systematically to seamlessly introduce the reader to the subject matter. The book illustrates to the reader on how to formulate and write a good statement of the problem since this is the core of a research study and a challenge to most students. Proposal writing and Thesis/dissertations writing formats are widely elaborated. It is important to note that the author opted for the standard format since different institutions call for different formats when writing researches. Thus the author discusses the three chapters in the proposal and five chapters in the Thesis. References are captured not forgetting Confounders and bias.
