When the malevolent being Mephiles the Dark awakens within the Chaos Shrine, threatening to shatter Mobius’s reality and Paldea’s peace, Team Phoenix is thrust into a greater battle than ever before. As the fabric of time continues to erode, the team allies with Mobius’s legendary Freedom Fighters—Sonic the Hedgehog, Princess Sally Acorn, and Uncle Chuck—to stop the looming threat of Dharkon. With dimensional rifts, acid lakes, and lava-flooded mountains standing in their path, the heroes ascend the Rift Crown to confront Dharkon in the Obsidian Darkness Arena. Schaun, gifted the Ultra Hyperblade form by Ho-Oh itself, leads the final assault with powerful Z-Moves and ascendant transformations, battling alongside Sonic and his allies in a war that spans dimensions and tests the very meaning of destiny. With Dharkon vanquished and the Doomsday Clock shattered, Team Phoenix returns home to Paldea, awakening in the comfort of their Starly Country treehouse—where the sky is peaceful once more. A portal to Mobius now permanently connects the two worlds, symbolizing a new alliance.
