Is That You Moon?

This is a story about a man and his cat who fall in love with the moon. The man plays music every night to the moon. When the moon finally disappears he packs up his instruments and his black cat and goes in search of the moon. He searches all through the night mistaking the moon for various things in the environment. He finally finds himself at dawn and no moon. He falls asleep under a tree and sleeps all through the night and the next day. When he wakes there in the sky is his moon. This is a whimsical story about love and longing for nature and expressing love through music. It is also a story about what we are looking for is often right in front of us such as all of the man's mistaking of the moon for ordinary things. This book was really written by the illustrations as the story and words only fully developed as the character of the old man and the cat came to life on paper. This was a collaboration between Beth Fox who put words to the story that developed through the inspiration and illustrations.
