Slavery of God

A harrowing book of poetry and prose, alternating between insightful descriptions of the everyday, and brutal narrative poetry. Includes the epic poem, "Slavery of God" which denounces the sin of making Divinity into property through the aggressive use and subsequent abdication of God, and also of one's neighbor. At times chaotic, and always very rich, the work is a forceful denouncement of cruelty and exploitation. The author makes a great gamble, the personal spiritual reflections and esoteric christian anarchism could either appear fresh and interesting, or dangerously inflammatory. The implied connection between contemporary violence and neglect of children to the ancient practice of sacrifice to Moloch will not make it enduring to many parents, and may overshadow the lyricism and beauty of the other sections. Overall a demanding and involved collection. The work features poems, fragments, and prose, including "Rending Sound", "The Birds I Have Killed", and "Slave Army", as well as the narrative "Maven".
