‘Whimsical Magazine, Tales Of Portraits... Whimsical Magazine is a new independent fortnightly publication aiming to highlight and sublimize portrait photography in all its forms, envisioned as a work of art. Additionally to awesome and unique editorial or commercial portraits, every issue will consist of interviews and articles spotlighting talents, from every part of the world, who will inspire every photography and image enthusiast and stimulate you to excel in your art, in order to make you live your passion more completely. Passion, creativity, emotion and audacity are our 4 watchwords. Verena Panzitt, the woman behind the lens, is not only a photographer, but also a midwife since 20 years. She lives with her family on the outskirts of Graz (Austria) and is the mother of a son. She currently works as a freelance midwife with birth support, which sometimes makes her everyday life turbulent. Hence, she has to postpone appointments quite spontaneously. In this kind of situation, Verena always trusts in the understanding of her customers and can offer an alternative date in a timely manner. ‘I actually became a photographer in the delivery room, because the moment when a woman holds her baby in her arms for the first time is indescribably emotional and powerful. I saw capturing these moments as my «task» as a midwife. Because photography means, among other things, capturing emotions. But I also like to play around artistically, and I see photography as an art, especially to photograph «the woman».’ Under the frame of this philosophy, Verena loves experimenting underwater, with gold leaf, with light and colours, love the challenge and always has new projects in mind that can be implemented more or less well. In addition, she can proudly look back on several international awards for her photographs and is always happy to measure and compare herself internationally : ‘I especially appreciate it when customers let me use the images publicly.
