‘Whimsical Magazine, Tales Of Portraits... Whimsical Magazine is a new independent fortnightly publication aiming to highlight and sublimize portrait photography in all its forms, envisioned as a work of art. Additionally to awesome and unique editorial or commercial portraits, every issue will consist of interviews and articles spotlighting talents, from every part of the world, who will inspire every photography and image enthusiast and stimulate you to excel in your art, in order to make you live your passion more completely. Passion, creativity, emotion and audacity are our 4 watchwords. ‘As a kid, I’d always loved opening up my Mum’s old photo albums, seeing the timeline of life unfold in captured moments. From then, I enjoyed experimenting capturing the things around me and creating little photo albums with my own captured moments.’ (Kath) Some of those albums, Kath Brew still has them today. She recently opened up one with her long time friend and again reminded her of why she loved photography so much : memories, moments and captured time. She moved on from film and got her first digital camera in 2003 (a Kodak 5pm) at 9 years old and since then, hasn’t looked back. And if you spent time with Kath, you would know that she cannot help herself! Indeed, she is literally always trying to snap the moment : ‘I believe being able to hold onto special moments through photography does something for our soul. It can draw us back into that space, time and memory so that we may share and remember all those feels again. It really is magic and now I want to do that for you!’ As you can see, Kath’s passion is to capture moments that are raw, candid, natural and authentic : ‘Pockets of love’, as she likes to call them, in other words, the moments between people that tell a story, YOUR story : ‘I grew up in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.Then, in August 2015, I made the Surf Coast/Geelong my home. I met my husband Michael soon after moving (12 days after in fact)We got married in April 2017 and we now have two little people of our own, Adley and Harry.​​ I just LOVE being their Mumma! I am extremely honoured to be invited to capture people in their ‘pocket of love’!
