This book provides the reported words of Jesus along with historical references, and in some cases chapters and verse, from the Bible, as well as from the; Apocrypha, Nag Hammadi Library, Agrapha and Gnostic gospels. Context is important and the reader can find background information, as well as various interpretations and perspectives of Jesus’ words and sayings via the amazing research tools now available to anyone with an interest in such analysis. Context offered by recent researchers, and the context offered by Jesus’ disciples, and the mostly unknown authors of the other texts presented in this book is exceedingly valuable, but context and narrative may include bias, and that can move mountains. It’s interesting that the total number of pages in popular versions of the New Testament, like the King James version or the NIV version typically ranges from 250 to 300 pages, depending on font size, page dimensions, and formatting, while the actual words of Jesus when extracted, number range from 50 - 60 pages. The large number of additional pages consist of valuable; narrative and context but might also be construed as editorializing.
