Frederic Adolphus Lampe (1683-1729) studied under Campegius Vitringa, and held various academic and ministerial posts. He was especially learned in ecclesiastical history and antiquities. Here, Lampe provides for us a brief history of the Biblical period, from the Creation of the World to the Apostolic Era. A knowledge of historical context greatly enriches the reading and study of the Scripture!
