East Oakland Community High School opened in the Fall of 2004. It closes June 2007. It was a small public high school inspired by the Black Panther free school of the 1960's. The California state appointed administrator decided to close it down in spite of strong parent, community, student, and School Board support. This yearbook gives you a glimpse of what made the school different and special. All of the portraits were shot by students in the Yearbook class. The preview does not adequately represent the quality of the actual printed book.
