The Modern Photographic Pocketbook presents a sequence of square, black and white photographs paired with text generated by Google dictionary boxes. The combination of photographs and text ranges from apt to odd and is designed to create a need, within the mind of the viewer-reader, to interpret, resolve and find meaning in the implied relationships. The sequence builds to an apparent conclusion or end, whilst maintaining a thread of themes and motifs, which often take inspiration from the New Objectivity and New Vision movements of early 20th century photography.
