Sialkot is a city located in the state of Punjab and since partition in 1947, has become part of Pakistan. My parents used to tell me stories of them having to flee as children from the terrible violence that ensued during this treacherous time. You'll hear the dhol, a Punjabi drum, on the intro and opening/closing melody. The lyrics sung are 2 stanzas from a 1947 Urdu poem "Dawn of Freedom," by the distinguished Pakistani poet, Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
lyrics:
SUBH-E-AZADI (DAWN OF FREEDOM) - August 1947
By Faiz Ahmed Faiz

Vo intizaar tha jis kaa, ye vo sahar to nahin
This stain-covered daybreak, this night-bitten dawn,
This is not that dawn of which there was expectation
