Black Baron

Short-story from the Baron sub-category of the Life-in-Death collection. During WW2, a daring female Hollywood stunt flyer volunteers to pilot SOE insertion flights into occupied France; but arrives in England after France has been liberated. She is assigned instead to the ATA as a ferry pilot, delivering replacement aircraft to front line squadrons on the Belgian border; but must run the gauntlet of FW-190 'shrikes' - dubbed butcher-birds by spitfire pilots.
