
Harajuku square features photography and digital imagery highlighting the fashionable teenagers that visit the Harajuku district in Tokyo, Japan. The teenage fashion-concious come to Harajuku every Sunday to engage in 'costume play', a dynamic form of fashion expression that has it's roots in manga, music, anime and a sense of artistic rebellion that Japanese teenagers crave in a society where discipline and conformity are prevelant in the school system. Harajuku is an avenue for Japanese youth to explore their creative side. This book pays homage to the area and the scores of teenagers who entertain and often astound the passers-by.
