Talitha, Cumi!

This book is for anyone who suffer emotional and physical pain. Resje battled to survive, through stitches and skin grafts, blood and infection. I battled with God, through unanswered prayers, anger and rejection. She carried her physical scars on her skin; I carried my emotional scars on my soul. Her external appearance mirrored my internal brokenness. Slowly and painfully through multiple operations I started to realise that her birth into a world of suffering became a slow and painful death to my flesh. One day God took me by my hand and whispered, “Talitha, cumi! Little girl, I say to you, arise!” Out of the ashes of her burning pain a single stem rose up with blossoms of hope. Her blood pointed to the Blood of Someone familiar with suffering. When I just could not take it anymore God gave me joy, healing, forgiveness and restoration. How could I ever have guessed that I would find God’s infinite love for me on my daughter’s journey through pain?
