The Life of John Knox

For many years this has been the standard work on John Knox. M’Crie sympathetically covers key events, portraying Knox’s influence in his native land and beyond, and occasionally diverts to comment on wider historical issues too. Controversial aspects of Knox’s life are given full attention and handled candidly. Extracts from his letters and interviews, often given in the vernacular, add to this portrait of Scotland’s leading reformer.
