“If I truly believed the Bible was the inspired word of God, I would have to understand He made sure His words, all of His words, could stand the test of time. God was in the beginning and He will be in the end, and He understands the people of each and every era. So why would He inspire scripture that would not stand the test of time? Sure, He would not inspire first century men to write about dominant women, but He would also not want twenty-first century people to think women are property to be used and abused by their husbands. God would ensure that His human authors carefully chose a word to cross social biases, regardless of the century in which His scriptures were studied.”
