Tom Draffin and his wife are regular visitors to Savannah, and they’ve enjoyed its shops, squares, and Southern charm. But they became increasingly interested in its old homes, many dating back to the 1700s. Strangely, however, there was no book or reference guide that told them where to find these historic homes and why they are so special. As a way to chronicle his findings—and to help others fascinated by Savannah’s architecture and history—he compiled this guide featuring some of the city’s oldest historic district homes.
