“Something’s off,” she whispered to him He grunted and zipped up both packs. He handed one to Cassie and she slipped it on, making her way to the door leading out into the endless sky. She was just about to open the escape hatch when something grabbed her from behind. The Loris had found them, and now it was either kill or be killed Cassie’s survival instinct kicked in and she reached for the knife hidden inside her jacket. Sliding out of the backpack, she sensed Sam lying unconscious a few feet away. She would get him later. Turning around, she quickly caught the Loris’ punch, twitting hi arm behind hi back until she heard a solid crack ring through the air. She dropped him and the Loris fell like dead weight.
