Wise words will go far

This book is a collection of first, second and sometimes third generation words of advice from many different people. They were collected after I conducted a series of small street interventions entitled Notice ME. (back cover) The city can be a harsh place. ‘Notice ME’ subverts the language and ideology of English street signage, communicating messages with an affectionate tone and wandering surreality. They are distinct from the direct and orderly intent of the usual. All messages from myself, small, subtle and all site specific, infect an area much larger than their immediate vicinity, tickling the brains of the those that notice. After expressing my own sentiments in the street, I wished to discover what advice others held dear. This book is a collection of these discoveries.
