Love Songs

At some point in our lives we all feel a connection with another human being that is so intense, it seems out of this world, it makes us whole, gives us a reason to live, to be our best, connects us to our world. These songs try to capture the essence of such love and the fear that it might be lost. There is a deep seated urge to connect, to belong, to find out who we are, to go beyond the mechanical explanation of us being machines, a seeking of the divine. These poems express this search through human love, which in our times is the most accessible form of love, more so than our ancient religions. The poems are addressed to 'you', the unseen spirit that animates the beloved each moment, in whose absence there would be no 'I' and no world either, that whose appearance coincides with the appearance of everything, that every child wonders about when the question appears, 'What would be there if I were not there at all?'
