A series of short female-led fictions, from the pen of Xavier Couperin, opens with the tale of yet another husband whose fortunes have turned sour and a wife who makes the most of his vulnerability. A wife, in this instance, all too easily led and tempted by a slutty friend and her recounting of her experiences as a recently recruited member to a small club controlled by a group of secretive, wealthy, and powerful expat Africans and their equally dominant wives as they hold court in the affluent English county of Berkshire. And the price of admission to this select and exciting club? Why, nothing more inconvenient than the giving over of the husband to the control of one of the African wives! Fiction-One in the series is: “His New Reality”. Mr Couperin is the writer of a number of titles on the subject of the marital dynamic and the female-led elements that turn it upon its head.
