My name is Jeffrey LaDonis, but most people call me Jeff. I was born and raised in New Providence, Nassau, Bahamas. An interesting fact about me is I speak three languages, Creole, French, and English. I have seven siblings, three brothers, and four sisters. I've been married to the same woman, my best friend, for twenty-four years. We have one amazing daughter and currently reside in Georgia. My toughest decision to this day has been writing this book because I've never felt smart or well-spoken. I turned 46 on July 27th, and for the past six years, I've been asking myself, what is my purpose, what legacy will I leave for future generations? I went to high school in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The students made fun of my accent and reading ability. Some called me dumb, and admittedly, it did hurt. In a way, maybe that shame kept me from using my voice and speaking my truth all these years. I believe this is my time to prove not only to them I'm worthy but also to myself.
