About
Anthony Logan Smith

Anthony (Tony) is married and lives in the north-west of England in a former mining and mill town. He is a retired Further Education Lecturer. In his spare time he was a keen cyclist and also enjoyed gliding. Since retirement, when his head is not in the clouds, he builds model aircraft and helps a local brass band. He spent some 25 years in part time uniform service serving in the Territorial Army before gaining a commission in the RAFVR(T) and eventually transferring to the Sea Cadet Corps as an RNR Officer. 'Making Rain and Other Things Is Our Business' is the first book that Tony has written. The first two stories in the book were inspired by a family holiday in The Netherlands in 1987. The remainder were written in 2012. Talented and award winning composer Lucy Pankhurst has composed music in conjunction with four of the books stories and these are being premiered by one of the world's best Brass Bands - Leyland Band - in 2014.
