Born in England, Alan grew up in Australia and traveled extensively before settling down. His love of writing stemmed from a diary kept of a journey around Australia, made in a 1959 Volkswagen Kombi van, when he was just 17. Many adventures followed and the diverse nature of his life so far has led to a diverse range of writing. From memoirs to crime fiction and a bit of time travel you certainly can't lock him into a Genre Box.
