Raúl Eduardo Chao received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He was for 17 years Chairman of the Chemical Engineering Departments at the University of Puerto Rico and the University of Detroit. In 1988 he became President of the Systema Group, a management consultancy that specialized in joint improvements of Quality and Profitability; over the years Systema worked with 124 multinational companies and government agencies following the philosophical and strategic techniques of W. Edward Deming. After retirement Dr. Chao has written 14 history books, several of which have become best sellers. Dr. Chao and his wife Olga live in Florida and Paris most of the year.
