Floyd A. Loomis

F.A. (Floyd) Loomis is a regular contributor to Idaho Magazine. A former financial journalist and business executive who worked in New York for many years, he also ran a small press in Seattle during the 1990s—Storm Peak Press—specializing in autobiographies and children's literature. Frankie Ravan and several of his other books won Idaho Author Awards in 2012. Its sequel, Ravan's Winter, was released in the summer of 2014 and won an Idaho Author Award in fiction. Floyd holds degrees from the Univ. of Washington in Seattle and Yale Univ. At UW he studied the history of the novel with Jacob Korg. He studied the classic structure of the novel at Yale with Peter Hawkins and Michael Malone. A native of Idaho, he lives near Arling with his wife Kristin. Logo: Storm Peak Press.
