Joe is a former Air Force pilot now living in Montana. During his military career he developed into a top level amateur cyclist. He competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Cycling trials on both the road and track. As well, he was a 6 time member of the U.S. Military World Championship Cycling Team.
