About
Dana Adler
I use my own name, Dana Adler, when I'm writing research based non-fiction, but when I'm writing fiction, I use the pen-name of L. Kincavel. In the past, I worked in several different jobs. I'm a qualified field archaeologist, but unfortunately, a combination of bad health and bad luck put an end to my career before it got properly started, so now I spend a lot of my time doing desk-based research. Once upon a time, I travelled a lot, living in Ecuador, Mexico and the USA (along with shorter visits to places like Kenya and Egypt). My own favourite reading is Fantasy, Science fiction, historically accurate Historicals and Whodunnits. Amongst my favourite authors are David Wishart, Lindsay Davis, Lauren Haney, Jefferson Bass, Linda Fairstein, Kathy Reichs, Jack McDevitt, Elizabeth Moon, L. E. Modesitt jr and Lois M Bujold - not forgetting the estimable Barbara Mertz (who is also Barbara Michaels and Elizabeth Peters), whom I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of years ago.
