Born in the UK, Patricia Robertson grew up in British Columbia and received her MA in Creative Writing from Boston University. She is the author of two collections of adult fiction. Her first collection, City of Orphans, was shortlisted for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. Her work has also been nominated for the Journey Prize, the CBC Literary Awards, the Pushcart Prize, and the National Magazine Awards (three times). The Fire Reapers is her first work for younger readers; she is working on a second, How To Talk To a Glacier. She lives in Whitehorse, Yukon, with poet Erling Friis-Baastad and the real-life Freya.
