Mr. Akeel Mosea Jordanian Board (OMFS), FFDRCSI (OSOM), MFDRCSI, Dip Imp Den RCS (Eng), BDS. Following graduation in 2002, Akeel has pursued a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He initially joined the residency programme at King Hussein Medical Centre leading to a specialist degree from the Jordanian Medical Council. He then moved to the UK in 2005, and worked at different hospitals in Birmingham, Newport and Norwich. From 2009-present, he holds a specialty doctor post in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital/Harlow, where he developed a subspecialty interest in oncology plastic facial skin reconstruction. With his dental background, Akeel also practises oral surgery including dental implants and complex bone augmentation. He has membership and a fellowship in oral surgery with oral medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and holds a diploma degree in dental implants from the Royal College of Surgeons in England. Akeel has invented the "composite palatal island flap" technique to reconstruct the maxillary alveolus, and innovated a new method to achieve two-layer closure in posterior mandible onlay grafts. Both techniques were published in the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Akeel enjoys mentoring junior surgeons at his hospital job. The wealth of his knowledge and experience has inspired him to publish educational books in plastic facial skin reconstruction, oral surgery and in dental implants.
