I am a retired Anglican priest who has served in various Australian parishes and schools. Wherever I have been I have been keen to learn something about the local history and produced some small booklets to share what I had discovered. In Coleraine, Victoria I was fortunate to gain access to a number of original documents which illustrated the pioneer ministry of the Reverend Francis Thomas Cusack Russell. As a result I have been able to use many of Francis Russell's own words to tell his story in my book "The Curate of the Wannon" which was published in 2010 after lying dormant for many years. Since then I have turned to family history which was spurred on by our celebration in October 2019 of the two hundredth anniversary of the arrival of Thomas and Ann Stone in Hobart Town. Their descendants are now to be found all over Australia. At that time "The Story of Thomas & Ann Stone" was published to tell something of their story and outline in particular their contribution to Education in early Hobart. I have now turned to my Grandmother's family, the Hepburns and the story of Andrew and Margaret Hepburn, who arrived in the Bendigo Goldfields in the 1850s and then took up farming in Woodstock West in 1871 where they would be neighbours to various members of the Stone family.
