My college degree and interest is journalism and photography. I am also fortunate to still have both parents living at ages 91 and 90. They are robust and interesting individuals with many passions. What began as an exercise to spend time with my dad, Dale Folks, ended with a short book about his long life. In 2012 he and I attended during a two-month span, a weekly local workshop in our community of Edmond, Oklahoma. The workshop was entitled "Write Your Life Story". I did not imagine at the time that he and I, together with co-interviewer and co-author Kathy Clark, would compile his many life-shaping stories and experiences into what we ultimately crafted. Dad has seen remarkable changes to our world in the 90 years covered in his stories. Although initially intended as a legacy for our family and Dad's heirs, we are happy to share some of these stories with you, our readers. Now that we have finished Dad's story, it is time to get busy writing my own!
