A retired United States Navy veteran with 20 years of honorable service, Dexter continued his commitment to public service as a law enforcement officer with the Elizabeth City Police Department. During his law enforcement career, he served as a Patrol Officer, Narcotics Detective, SWAT Team member, and member of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, gaining extensive experience in firearms, investigations, and public safety. Dexter holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Criminal Behavior and an Associate Degree in Business. He is an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and a North Carolina Department of Justice Certified Concealed Carry Handgun Instructor, with more than 26 years of firearms instruction experience. As a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder and business owner, Dexter combines real-world experience with practical instruction to help aspiring firearms dealers understand the licensing process and build successful, compliant businesses.
