Belida Han Uckun is a proud naturalized citizen and a veteran of the Cold War, Desert Shield/Desert Storm and the Global War On Terror having served honorably in multiple armed forces branches. He served with the United States Marine Corps East Coast Fleet Anti-terror Company 4th Platoon where he did nuclear site security, counter intelligence, personal protection details and standard and special operations infantry training, and the NJ National Guard as a Cavalry Scout, and EMT doing mounted and dismounted reconnaissance, as well as on site security for tunnels and bridges in NYC and NJ immediately after the 9/11 attacks on NYC. A lifelong martial artist Belida holds Black Belts in Karate, Taekwondo, Kung Fu, Jujitsu and Kenpo. He has a Bachelor's and Masters in Communication Science from Rutgers University School of Communication and Information Science, as well as a Bachelor's and Masters in Oriental Medicine from The Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Manhattan. One of his goals is to get back in academics and finish his PHD. He's also a lifelong student of history, culture and society, with a background as a freelancer for fiction and nonfiction writing, particularly in martial arts magazines and science fiction novels and is a co-producer/writer for the online RPG video game "Realms of Conflict" by APE Apps.
