BJ Stone was born in Temple, TX, & graduated from Temple High School, a member of FFA and the Rodeo Club. She was active in 4-H and participated in fairs, horse shows, and Rodeos. BJ attended college in Waco and Killeen, focusing on criminal justice & creative writing. Drawing on life experiences, working and managing ranches, training horses, working in Law Enforcement, & reading Louis L’Amour books, she has written a variety of novels, the Shadow Valley Western series, including Secrets of Shadow Valley - The Beginning, Blood, Water, & Revenge, The Rafter D Legacy, and Comanche Shadows. She has also written suspense novels When the Dragons Roar and Playing God: The User's Guide, Saddle Bag Devotions, The Complete Guide for New Mule Riders, and a historical documentary, Parrie Haynes Ranch-A Promise Kept. She enjoys challenging herself and venturing into a wide range of genres. BJ loves spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, & pets. She loves time in the saddle on her mule and writing novels.
