Britta Benson is a German circus performer, writer and linguist, thriving in Scotland since the year 2000. She writes a daily blog (‘Britta’s Blog – Letters from Scotland’), runs a creative writing group, The Procrastinators, and facilitates creative writing workshops both online and in person. She has published a lyrical memoir, ‘Where my grief sits and how it travels’ (2025), an experimental blackout novel, ‘Love in Time’ (2025), as well as a collage pamphlet, 'underworld, overworld, underworld' (2025). She has edited a number of anthologies and is currently putting together 'One Page at a Time', an anthology of one page pieces by ten women writers, due to be published in April 2026. Her poetry and prose have been published by the Scottish Book Trust, Open Book Unbound, The Edinburgh Literary Salon, London Wildlife Trust, Books Ireland Magazine, Glasgow Review of Books, Dove Tales Scotland, [kon] Paper, Lombardi Voices and others. She currently works as Artist in Residence at the STAR Project in Paisley, facilitating community workshop with a focus on visual poetry.
