About
Buford O'Sullivan

Buford O’Sullivan is a New York-based musician and writer. As a trombonist, he has performed and recorded with The Easy Star All-Stars; Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra; Gov’t Mule; The Toasters; The Scofflaws; and many others. He has released three solo projects; “I Can’t Decide”, a three-song vinyl single; “The Club of Hopes and Fears” on MoonSka Satellite Records; “The Sexy Eye” on 7 Wonders of the World Records; and “L.R.T.R.” on Megalith. "Tranquility" is his first novel, and was written as he was on the road with the above-mentioned musical acts. His intention was give a first-person view into an imagined future where perfection is a commonly accepted myth - one which unravels as the brutal honesty of the human condition reveals itself despite society's best efforts. Much as a band would unravel under the pressures of touring, O'Sullivan's utopia struggles under the mask of pretense in constant motion with the honest truth lashing out, bringing on explosions and revelations.
